THURSDAY

Cocktails Nightclub / Ladies Night, 9pm-3am. DJ Erik Kane will play a set, and the night will feature giveaways, raffles and prizes. Entry $10 or free for women. Strictly 18 plus.

Springlake Hotel, Springfield Lakes Blvd / Uni night, 8pm-late. Enjoy a cheap night out with fellow students at the Spring Lake Hotel. Free entry, DJs and free bar snacks.

 

FRIDAY

Ipswich Civic Centre, cnr Limestone and Nicholas Sts / Dance concert, from 7.30pm.

Be amazed by performances at NY Dance's annual concert.

The event is themed as The Roaring Twenties, and will showcase the achievements of students from all age groups and genres. Tickets cost $19.50 for adults, $16 concession, and $10 for primary school students.

Boonah Cultural Centre, 3 High St / Kat and Kim movie, from 7pm. Have a laugh as Kath and Kim adventure overseas in Kath and Kimderella, rated PG. Tickets cost $10.50 for adults and $7.20 concession. No bookings, tickets must be purchased from the box office on the day of screening.

Royal Mail Hotel, 90 Brisbane Tce, Goodna / Live music, from 6.30pm. John Malcolm will play a full set. Free entry.

Coronation Hotel / I Heart Fridays, from 7pm.DJ sets until midnight. Free entry.

Hotel Metropole / R'n'B Central, free before 10pm. Entertainment divided into a dance zone with electric and dance, and an urban zone with R'n'B, hip hop and US Top 40 tracks.

SATURDAY

Glamorgan Vale Community Hall, Main St / Christmas carnival, 5pm-9pm. Families and other Glamorgan Vale residents can enjoy this fun community event, which will feature a visit from Santa, children's rides, sweet stalls, hot food stalls and a licensed bar. Santa will visit at 7pm, with a gift for each student in primary school or younger. Musician Kev Smith will keep audiences entertained, and the popular ham wheel with spin throughout the night, with tickets priced at $1. There will also be a raffle. Free entry.

Royal Mail Hotel, 90 Brisbane Tce, Goodna / Live music, from 11.30am. Panga and the True Blues will perform a set, followed by Hat Fitz and Cara Robinson from 2.30pm. Free entry.

Boonah Cultural Centre, 3 High St / Boonah State School concert, at 3pm and 6pm. The Boonah community can support students at their annual musical. A cast of 260 students and special guests including Willie Wonka, SpongeBob Squarepants, Cupid and The Ghost of Christmas Past will perform. The show is called Symbols and individual classes will present acts based on education, transport, emotions and other learning topics. Tickets cost $12 for adults and $7 for children. Queens Park / Fire dancing, 6pm-8.30pm. Watch an Ipswich-based troupe perform fire dancing routines. Bring a blanket or picnic chair to the free event.

 

LATER IN THE WEEK

Ipswich RSL Club, Lowry St, Nth Ipswich / Country and Western night, Wednesday from 6.30pm. Performer Michael King will sing country tunes. Entry as per RSL policy.
