THEY'VE dazzled audiences with all manner of dance performances, from the breathtaking leaps of ballet to the rhythmic form of tap.

But after tonight the curtain will close on the 2013 Ipswich Junior Eisteddfod - finishing with a special gala performance at 7pm.

A broad range of up-and-coming dancers proved their skills on stage this week in the dance solo competition. Adjudicator Mandy Noble said she had judged numerous eisteddfods before but was still surprised by the impressive performances on show.

"There has been such talent shown in each dance style," she said.

"I commend all the teachers and students for their hard work."

Ms Noble said she was particularly impressed by the skill and focus displayed by dancers in the younger age categories.

The eisteddfod will hold its final sessions today at 8am, 1pm and culminate with the gala performance at 7pm at the Ipswich Civic Centre.
