Young talent dazzles judges

CALL off the search, Gladstone has all the talent.

The cream of Gladstone's musical crop showcased their talents at the GLNG and Zinc Talent Quest and Battle of the Bands event on Tuesday night.

Ten competitors took to the stage to compete in the junior talent quest heats, with a dance ensemble by Imogen Bambrick taking home the top prize.

Biloela sisters Haylee and Gabby Streeter were crowned winners of the senior talent quest heat, beating nine other performers to the top spot.

The sisters performed a country tune that captivated the crowd.

Metal-inspired outfit Desekrator was crowned first place in the Harbour Festival's night of nights, following a head-thumping, screamo performance.

Rock bands Requiem and Two Words took home second and third place, respectively.

All performances were judged by Bobby Dazzlar, Gary Scanlan from GLNG, Tina Twinkles and Joel Anderson from Zinc.

Desekrator took the throne of 2011 Battle of the Bands winners' Presence of Mind.
