Young girl airlifted after highway crash kills 3
THE sole survivor of a horrific crash west of Townsville has been airlifted to hospital.
Three people died after the car they were travelling in rolled over on Wills Developmental Road between Gregory and Burketown this morning.
A young girl is believed to be the only survivor of the crash.
A spokesman for the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia confirmed one person was airlifted from Gregory Downs Station to Mt Isa Hospital today.
"They'll be monitored in hospital," he said.
Tributes to the victims of the crash have been posted online.
THREE people are dead after a horror crash in northwest Queensland.
A young girl was the only survivor of the crash which occurred on Wills Developmental Road between Gregory and Burketown.
A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman said State Emergency Service crews were responding to the incident which was reported about 6.30am.
"It's a very remote community and as far as we know there was one survivor - a little girl," she said.
Burketown is about 950km west of Townsville.
