NOEL and Alma Randall aren't your usual newly weds.

The pair married in Noel's granddaughter's house in One Mile on Saturday at the age of 77 and 93 respectively.

Surrounded by family, and with Noel's son their best man and daughter as the matron of honour, they sat among the gardens of the house where they declared their love for each other.

The wedding was Alma's third and Noel's second.

The couple met when Noel began volunteering to drive the bus for Alma's retirement community.

"We're madly in love," Noel said.

He said Alma had proposed to him and they had been engaged for just four months before they were married.

"We were getting close and she said to me 'Why don't we get married?' and I said 'Why not?' It was as simple as that.

"She's a lovely lady."

Alma said she was pleased to have married someone she dearly loved.

"(When we met) I just thought he was lovely," she said.

The couple will go on their honeymoon to Hervey Bay in the coming weeks.
