Yamanto Tavern Keno bet earns man a cool $1.2 million

A SATURDAY afternoon beer turned into a $1.2 million windfall for a lucky Ipswich Keno player.

The 58-year-old is planning a 'round Australia caravan trip with his wife after picking 10 out of 10 numbers in the Keno Jackpot at Yamanto Tavern.

It was the win that might not have happened, with the lucky Keno player missing the moment when the final number came up on the screen and only finding out when he presented the ticket later on.

"I stopped in for a quick beer and bought a Keno ticket, and left with over a million dollars," he said.

"I wasn't expecting that.

"It's lucky I didn't leave it in my pocket and forget about it, which I sometimes do."

Aside from travelling across the country, the winner also plans to share the love with his family.

He says he will continue working, but will take more time off to enjoy life.

The winning ticket was a Kwikpik that cost only $10 for 10 $1 games.

The winning numbers were 4, 7, 12, 14, 16, 25, 44, 49, 59 and 70. Keno Spokesperson Nick Quinn congratulated the winner, saying everyone at Keno was excited to hear that Queensland's fourth millionaire was enjoying his win so much.

"I wish our winner and his family safe travels in their new motorhome," he said.

Keno gives away $28 million to Queensland players each month.
