I AM John Cox. Mature Australia Party. Candidate for the Wright Electorate.

I'm offering myself as a candidate in the coming national elections.

I am a proud eighth generation Australian who wants to see greater equality in the conduct of our governments and political affairs, nationally.

I want to be a part of national efforts to reclaim Australia's reputation as the "lucky country".

It was, until economic and administrative mismanagement by successive governments over recent decades changed all that.

I want to build bridges between the Australian people and the governments who are elected to serve them.

I have great passion for our country and I am proud of the fact that my family has contributed to preserving Australians' freedom.

My father and grandfather served in both wars for Australia and several other relatives have served in the armed services.

My political objectives in representing you are:

  • I want to see reform to our taxation laws to ensure that big companies operating in Australia, and making money here, must pay taxes here.
  • I want to protect the family home from seizure by government, by reverse mortgage or any other measures.
  • Home owners must retain their right to pass on the family home from one generation to the next.
  • We need to increase pension rates.
  • I believe we must support our farmers when mining company's render their land useless for farming.
  • We will provide a water pipeline from the top end through middle Australia, providing water in times of drought, and for vegetable growing in food basins.

- John Cox.
