Dinner highlights great progress made

THE Ipswich Parents and Old Boys marked their 50th year of supporting junior sport in the Ipswich District with a dinner on July 26.

About 90 guests had an enjoyable evening where current and past members recalled old memories since the formation of the Ipswich Parents and Old Boys on July 28, 1964.

Foundation members Garry Cuthbert and Jim Doyle received commemorative medallions to recognise their initial inception to "support junior sport".

Great progress has been made by the Ipswich Parents and Old Boys whereby school rugby league, junior rugby league, cricket, hockey, vigoro, netball and softball have received financial assistance toward Ipswich representative teams in 2014.

Support of community based events is ongoing from members within the Ipswich Parents and Old Boys.

The Ipswich Parents and Old Boys welcome new members to carry on the legacy of the good work done over the years.
