THE world's fastest rally car has landed on the Coffs Coast.

The Red Bull-sponsored DS3 driven by seven-time world champion Sebastien Loeb has this year helped to make Citroen the most successful manufacturer of the World Rally Championship.

Loeb's teammate Sebastien Ogier gave Citroen its 78th win, claiming the Rally of Germany in August and gifting the DS3 eight consecutive wins - another record.

In ending Loeb's eight-win stranglehold on the European WRC round, Ogier has set up a fierce rivalry between team-mates for the championship.

As title contenders, Loeb and Ogier are expected to repeat their recent success in the snow, here on the dust of the Coffs Coast.

Team Citroen will commence reconnaissance today, driving the rally stages prior to the start of competition on Thursday.
