Woman seriously injured after car crashes into power pole

A WOMAN in her 20s has been seriously injured after the car she was driving crash into a power pole on the Gold Coast.

Police said the crash occurred about 2.15am on Friday morning in Southport.

The single vehicle traffic crash happened on Queen Street.

The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, a woman believed to be aged in her 20s, was taken to the Gold Coast University hospital with serious injuries.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
