Woman injured as car spins out of control

A WOMAN'S vehicle crossed the median strip and was heading towards on-coming traffic in a crash at Blackstone this morning.

Ipswich police say the woman lost control of the vehicle as she headed down the Cunningham Hwy towards Brisbane about 7.15am.

According to the police report, the vehicle spun and crossed the median strip, briefly heading towards on-coming traffic before crashing back onto the median strip.

Fortunately, no other vehicles were involved.

Police say the vehicle's airbags were deployed and the driver sustained arm injuries.

She has been taken to Ipswich Hospital in a stable condition.

The highway was closed briefly while the damaged vehicle was towed from the scene.

There were no reports of major traffic delays in the area.
