SEXUAL PREDATOR: Woman finds ‘creepy’ sexual note on car

WHEN Donna Barnicoat's daughter came home from a walk up Kemp Hill with a sexually explicit note she found on her car, she thought it had to be a joke.

The 24-year-old went for a walk along the popular Yeppoon track with her friend in the early hours of Sunday morning and returned to find a note offering them $500 for sexual intercourse.

"The note even described what the girls were wearing," Donna said yesterday.

"I looked at it and I thought is this for real?

"How creepy is that? And after she talked to everyone and they figured out it wasn't someone they knew, we thought, okay now this is concerning."

The note began with the sickening phrase, "Hey my sexy baby, I love your body" and appeared to say "I will follow you before you go so I can undress you".

Donna said her daughter was left feeling a little shaken after the incident, which prompted her to share the ordeal online on the Rockhampton Classifieds Facebook page.

It was also shared on the Yeppoon Families page, where it attracted more than 152 shares.

Some commented on the post, saying they had recently seen a man watching young women sunbake on Kemp Beach.

"It is a bit worrying. It just goes to show to make sure you go with someone," Donna said.

"You can't trust anybody really. You need to pair up. Take partners.

"They came home and they're safe so I'm okay."

Officer in Charge of Yeppoon police station, Senior Sergeant Robert Barclay said it was important for people to take incidents like these seriously.

"If it happens to anyone else, get on the phone and report it.

"If we can get down there we will, it is better if we know when it is happening.

"You want to be able to go walk somewhere without someone leaving a note.

"If you get a note like that, even if you think if it's a joke, bring it into the police," he said.
