Woman falls 10m onto rocks at Point Cartwright

A WOMAN is lucky to be alive after a 10 metre fall onto rocks at Point Cartwright, Buddina.

The woman, believed to be in her 20s, fell from a location at Pacific Boulevard, near the lighthouse, at around 4.52pm.

Queensland Ambulance Service officers are on scene assessing the patient for a number of issues.

The woman has pelvic pain, soft tissue injuries and abrasions.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Service crews were able to extricate the woman.

QAS operations supervisor Lorenz Kleinberg confirmed the woman was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

"We were presented at the bottom of the cliff with a lady conscious and complaining of what appears to be some superficial injuries," Mr Kleinberg said.

"We are unsure how she fell but the important message here is you never know when you might be first on scene for an incident like this. So first aid courses are a vital thing people should know.

"She is talking to paramedics on the way to hospital. She definitely suffered some grazes in the fall but after the hospital make their assessment we will know more."

Mr Kleinberg praised the QFES for their timely assistance.
