Woman ejected from car as it crashed down embankment

A WOMAN ejected from a car that crashed down an embankment this afternoon has been taken to hospital with injuries.

Emergency services were called to the single-vehicle crash on Argents Rd at Finch Hatton about 4.30pm.

Queensland Police said a woman had been thrown from the vehicle when it crashed off the roadside.

Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics assessed the woman at the scene for injuries.

Paramedics at the scene reported the woman was conscious and breathing before she was taken to Mackay Base Hospital.

She was in a stable condition.

A rescue helicopter was initially tasked to the incident but was stood down.

Police investigations into the cause of the crash are continuing.
