Woman charged for obstructing police

A WOMAN who tried to take the blame for a single vehicle car accident in which she was a passenger was charged for obstructing police.

Lisa Marie Dawson told police she was driving a car which crashed into a bollard near the Redbank Plains sporting fields.

She was breath-tested and found to be over the limit, however CCTV footage later confirmed that she was the front seat passenger and that a man was driving.

She later refused to tell police who the man was.

Dawson, 28, pleaded guilty to obstructing police and contravening a police direction at Ipswich Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

She was fined $750.
