Woman accused of anti-Muslim rant faces court again

AN IPSWICH woman alleged to have subjected a prominent Australian Muslim woman to a torrent of racist abuse online has had her case adjourned for a second time.

The 22-year-old, Jay-Leighsa Bauman, was charged with using a carriage service to menace, harass or cause offence.

Ms Bauman allegedly sent a barrage of abuse to Ms Veiszadeh, 30, via Facebook calling her a "whore", a "rag-head" and demanded she return to her own "sand dune country".

Bauman's lawyer Erin Dwan appeared on behalf of her client this week and adjourned the matter for a case conference.

The matter will be heard again on April 14.
