Wheelie bin joyride 'a good idea'

TWO teenagers rode a wheelie bin down an inner-city driveway because it seemed like a good idea at the time.

Police found a group of people on Brisbane St, Ipswich at 11pm on October 27 after witnesses heard a loud crash.

Cory James Harlen, 18, and Brayden Michael Drage, 19, had taken turns riding the bin down the driveway, strewing rubbish everywhere.

Both men pleaded guilty to public nuisance yesterday at Ipswich Magistrates Court.  Drage told the court it was a "stupid idea" but fun at the time.

Each man was released on a $200, two month good behaviour bond with no conviction recorded.
