West End coaches re-sign for 2019

EXCITED to extend his tenure as West End A-Grade coach for another season, Jae Woodward was quick to highlight another key re-signing which he hopes will set the foundations for an improved 2019 season at Daniel's Park.

"Rob Hawkins has been instrumental,” Woodward said of his assistant and strength and conditioning coach.

"He's the ultimate professional. The way Rob prepares his fitness and training sessions, the boys can't look him in the eye if they haven't worked hard.

"He's that sort of a guy around the club; there's no job too big or small.

"If you're wearing blue and maroon, you're a part of the Bulldogs and everyone carries their weight.”

Woodward believes Hawkins has been a key catalyst in the improved culture at 'The Kennel', and he sees a bright future as a result.

"He puts players first above wins or anything else. Their well-being and development is the most important,” Woodward said.

"Rob makes my job a million times easier, because he expects so much from the players but puts in as much as they do.

"The boys have become a great bunch of mates. While the results haven't come, they've formed a close group.

"That's something we can build upon.”
