Well-heeled step out for Ladies Day
IN WHAT will be a day of fabulous fun and fashion, Ipswich punters have been invited to the fifth annual Recruitment Queensland Ladies Race Day.
RQ managing director Alison McGrath said the event aimed to raise almost $13,000 for the Ipswich Flood Appeal and Ipswich Hospice.
“In years past the race day has been a fabulous day of fun, fashion, live racing, a pamper parlour, fashion parade, hottest heels competition, best-dressed female and the dandiest male competitions,” Ms McGrath said.
“Tickets also include a sit-down luncheon with special guest Kimberley Busteed from Channel Seven.”
She said the race day aimed to give back to the Ipswich community, and that men and women were welcome.
“It is very important to us that we give back to our community, and this is one of our ways by holding this day,” she said.
Biztopia are sponsoring the Hottest Heels competition and will see manager Michael Munt as the lucky man in the judge’s seat.
“He chooses the shoes that he sees as the hottest looking via a parade of the ladies and gents,” Ms McGrath said.
“The prize is a bottle of champagne, diva desktop quotes and a voucher for a pampering massage.”
Mr Munt said he was looking forward to what was always a great event.
“I am happy to throw my support behind a day that is raising money for both Ipswich Hospice Care and the Ipswich Mayor’s flood appeal,” he said.
The race day will be held at the Ipswich Turf Club, Bundamba on Friday, March 25 from midday.
Tickets cost $80 for a two-course meal, shared dessert, champagne on arrival and house wine, beer and soft drink. Phone 3813 9700.
