Website offers choice in childcare

A NEW website that identifies Childcare Queensland's member long day care centres and their location through a postcode search says it is giving Karana Downs parents more information than ever before.

Karana Early Education Centre director Kirsten Edols said the www.handsupforplay.com.au website gave parents information on what other services were available in Karana Downs so parents had a choice.

“They also have the opportunity to read of other parents' experiences with our centre, which provides information to assist them in making their choice,” Mrs Edols said.

“Our centre encourages a great selection of play through learning programs for all ages, which are delivered by our highly qualified staff.”

Childcare Queensland CEO Gwynn Bridge said the website had been developed due to requests from parents and their need to choose a Childcare Queensland member long day care centre tailored to their needs.

The website has been launched with a Queensland-wide television campaign that reminds parents of the educational benefits that children receive by learning through play.
