Water police recover man's body at Somerset Dam

UPDATE: Police have discovered a man's body in Somerset Dam today.

A search had been underway at the dam after an empty boat had been located around 6pm last night.

PolAir made the discovery around midday today with water police recovering the man's body, believed to be that of the missing man, a 69-year-old from Deception Bay.

Police will be preparing a report for the Coroner.

 

LATEST: Police continue to coordinate the search for a man reported missing at Somerset Dam on Sunday.

Initial information suggests that around 6pm an empty boat was located, believed to have been carrying a man.

The search resumed this morning using police, SES personnel and boats. 

The search is water and land based.

Police resources, including water police and PolAir 1 have been deployed to assist in the search.
