WATCH: Man's car towed away after police station burn out
UPDATE: Police have seized a car and charged a 19-year-old with a Type 1 hoon offence after video footage of a silver Ford Falcon doing a burnout outside the Bundaberg Police Station was posted to YouTube.
It took police about an hour to track down the alleged driver to a house in Maryborough St.
Bundaberg Traffic Branch officer-in-charge Sergeant Marty Arnold said in certainly didn't take police long to find the accused via CCTV footage.
"Once again a young driver in town who confuses his ability with capability and did a burnout in front of the police station of all places," he said.
"As a result he'll lose his vehicle for a substantial amount of time and face court, possibly to lose his driver's licence.
The passenger will also be issued with an infringement notice for allegedly pouring oil over the road.
EARLIER: Bundaberg Police are reviewing CCTV footage from the CBD in order to track down the identity of the hoons who did a burn out outside the Bundaberg Police Station.
Police have urged the driver to come forward.
EARLIER: A video has been posted to YouTube showing a driver doing a skid outside the Bundaberg Police Station.
The video, which was uploaded Monday, is narrated by someone who is talking about what the people in the car are doing.
"I'll even take some photos of him rolling up through my video," a man says with a laugh.
A car goes past, and the man recording says "it's all right, it's only a Magna."
The video, titled "Ford falcon skids outside Bundaberg police station", has so far had more than 80 views.
Bundaberg Police said it appeared the people in the video were pouring petrol or diesel on the wheels to make the affect of smoke.
Bundaberg Police Sergeant Michael Prickett said if anyone knew who was behind the skid they could contact police on 4153 9111.
"They're not as game as they seem because they're in front of the trees so no one can really see them," he said.
