TOOWOOMBA'S parks are already putting on a show with just over a week until this year's Carnival of Flowers gets under way.

The Toowoomba Region Facebook page has given residents and visitors coming to this year's celebrations a different view of the impressive floral display.

A video has been posted online showing a birds-eye view of the Botanic Gardens in Queens Park.

The expansive garden is equally as impressive from above as it is below, showing an array of colour and plants.

The 2017 Carnival of Flowers kicks off next Friday and will run until September 24.

Highlights of the carnival include the Grand Central Floral Parade on Saturday, September 16, the Ergon Energy Food and Wine Festival and don't forget to check out the amazing parks and gardens in The Chronicle Garden Competition.

A full guide and maps will be in the paper next Friday.
