Warrego Hwy crash delays traffic

POLICE had to stop traffic on the Warrego Highway early Tuesday after a car crashed into the median strip.

The vehicle was reported as being stuck near the Kholo Rd overpass about 4.40am.

Witnesses told police the driver had exited the vehicle and was trying to flag down passing motorists for assistance.

There was no serious damage to the car but it was stuck, requiring police to shut down both east-bound lanes from about 5.50am so that it could be moved.

The road was reopened about 6.10am.
