Warm welcome for the mighty Lions

A GREAT achievement by Acting Mayor Councillor Paul Tully and the Ipswich City Council in reaching an agreement with the Brisbane Lions to transfer the AFL club's training and administrative headquarters to Springfield.

A significant development will be a stadium being built to seat 10,000 to 15,000 spectators. Reports (QT 22/07) disclose it is a fact that funding for the sporting facility will soon be made available by the AFL and the Palaszczuk Government.

Having the national Brisbane Lions Women's team training and playing on their Springfield home ground will heighten interest in women's sport.

I'd like to see that.

My wife and I enjoy the occasional Sunday brunch at flourishing Springfield.

We are Lions members and couldn't be more pleased with the Brisbane Lions acquiring the Springfield site.
