Wanna-be thief bungles convenience store robbery

POLICE are hunting for a man who attempted to rob a Maryborough shop on the corner of Pallas and Churchill St.

Police believe that just before 3pm a man walked into the store and demanded cash from a female employee.

When she refused to comply the man fled from the store on foot and was last seen on Tooley Street.

The 23-year-old female employee was not injured during the incident.

Police conducted patrols of the area but were unable to locate the man.

The man is described as Caucasian in appearance, approximately 170cm tall, of a slim build with short black hair.

He was last seen wearing a long sleeved white and dark blue striped shirt, skinny jeans, thongs and a white beanie over his face.

Investigations are continuing.

Police are also asking anyone who might have information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
