Walkathon to Take on Women's Cancers

THE Lowood Inc Slimmers Annual Walkathon and monster auction is shaping up to be a big event tomorrow, and organisers are urging locals to join in the fun.

The event will be held from 9am at the Lowood Showgrounds on Station St with registrations open from 8am, to raise funds for Cancer Council Queensland's new Pink campaign, Take on Women's Cancers.

The walkathon will include a 3km, 7km and 12km walk for participants, and prizes will be awarded for best pink outfit.

Cancer Council Queensland spokeswoman Katie Clift said the walk was about sending a message of support to all women affected by cancer.
