Wear yellow at Park2Park to promote Strive to be Kind Day
FAMILY and friends of Allison Baden-Clay, who was murdered by her husband Gerard in 2012, will wear yellow at this weekend's Ipswich Park2Park race to promote this year's Strive to be Kind Day.
Switchettes member Karlie Bulow has fond memories of her cousin, Allison, who she said was one of the most kind and generous people she had ever known.
Ms Bulow said people were encouraged to perform an act of kindness in memory of Allison, buy a yellow ribbon, make a donation or wear yellow next Friday.
"The Switchsweats team will all be wearing yellow in the Park2Park race this Sunday in honour of Allison," she said.
"She was an amazingly kind and a truly beautiful person and we're trying to make something positive out of what happened.
"Funds raised on Strive to be Kind Day will go towards the Allison's Gift foundation to assist victims of crime, especially children.
"We had such outstanding support from the community and now we want to give back."
Team registrations for the Park2Park race day have closed but individuals can register at the event on Sunday.
Registrations for the 700m Family Challenge are open from 7.45am-9.45am for a 10am start.
