Videos show snow across southern Darling Downs

UPDATE: Residents across southern parts of the Darling Downs reported light snowfall last night.

Falls were reported in Amiens, Stanthorpe, The Summit and Warwick.

Today the Bureau of Meteorology is predicting the mercury to rise to 11 degrees in Stanthorpe, 14 degrees in Warwick and 11 degrees in Toowoomba.

It will be cold again tonight with the bureau predicting widespread frosts across the Darling Downs.

More snow is unlikely though as there is little moisture in the air.

Stanthorpe will drop to -4 degrees, Warwick -1 degree and Toowoomba 1 degree tonight.

While only light snow and sleet fell in Queensland, residents across the border in New South Wales did get more of a dusting.

Weather enthusiast Jeff Higgins from Higgins Storm Chasing posted photos of falls in Guyra and Ben Lomond.
