Video: journo shows perils of reporting near burning heroin

AS THE BBC's Middle East correspondent Quentin Sommerville has reported on some of the most harrowing news stories of the year while Isis rampaged through Iraq and Syria.

But with Christmas and new year approaching, he shared with his followers on Twitter a lighter, previously unseen, moment from his broadcasts.

"It's been a year of bullets and bloodshed," he wrote. "You've earned a Christmas laugh at my expense."

In the clip, called 'Don't inhale', Sommerville states that burning behind him is 8.5 tonnes of heroin, opium, hashish and other narcotics… before delivering what can only be described as a drug-fuelled giggle, which we can practically guarantee will make you laugh too.
