Three vehicles crash on highway

THREE vehicles came to a muddy stop after they were involved in a crash on the Cunningham Highway.

The crash was on the Warwick-bound side of the highway near the intersection with Champions Way about 10.15am.

A grey Ford Falcon sedan followed by a white Falcon ute followed by a black Mitsubishi came to rest in a deep ditch beside the highway.

The Falcon sedan had water halfway up its doors, the ute was relatively high and dry while the Mitsubishi was well and truly coated in mud.

A police spokesman said the only injury to come out of the crash was one person who had a suspected broken arm.

Police blocked off the Ipswich-bound side of the highway and directed traffic around the crash while emergency services dealt with the people involved in it.

The cause of the crash is still being investigated but it happened during heavy rain.

Police said it was a reminder that people should drive to the conditions and slow down in wet weather.
