Vampire club's bite night for Halloween in cellar
PLAYING vampires is great fun, but leave the glitter hairspray and Twilight books at home - that's the message from Ipswich's first vampire nightclub organiser.
Ms Booth said Ipswich thrill-seekers could get a taste of the unusual culture at a special nightclub event at the Stumps Hotel next Saturday.
But she warned attendees could develop a thirst for the meet-ups.
"We meet weekly, but next Saturday is a special event for Halloween," she said. "We have about 60 members and at past public events like balls we've had about 200 people from the general public attend."
Ms Booth said she loved the thrill of role-playing and wearing classic corsets and gowns.
"Vampire clubs are popular because they're formal and you can get dressed up and get into character," she said.
Ms Booth said the Halloween event would feature seasoned role-players, and welcomed Ipswich people to dress up for the event or pop by after dinner.
"Anyone can book in for dinner at Stumps and then pop downstairs to the vampire nightclub," she said.
The event will feature music and entertainment, with Tru Blood cocktails on sale.
- The Elysium Club's special Halloween event will run from 7pm till late in the wine cellar of the Stumps Hotel.
- Attendees should wear formal attire, with vampire accessories optional.
- Tickets cost $15 and can be purchased at the door.
