Ipswich welcome for V8 transporters

V8 B-doubles create spectacle in Ipswich CBD

HIGH-powered machinery worth more than $100 million rumbled through Ipswich streets today as the V8 Supercar Transporter Parade came to town.

It was a sight to behold as 16 B-double transporters, each valued at between $2 million and $2.5 million, rolled through the CBD ahead of the Coates Hire Ipswich Super Sprint that will roar into action at Queensland Raceway from 31 July 2 August.

Crowds lined the streets, with parents bringing along their children, who will no doubt become the budding V8 fans of the future.

The high-octane entertainment kicks off with two practice sessions on the Friday, before the V8 Supercars burn some rubber across three qualifying sessions and races on the Saturday and Sunday.

Today's racing spectacle also gave fans the chance to meet a host of drivers at the Coates Hire Community Day at Churchill.
