Unlicensed driver caught speeding

A MAN who hasn't held a licence in 15 years was caught out during a speeding offence, Ipswich Magistrates Court heard.

Bryan Gordon Tricklebank, 61, was pulled over on the Warrego Hwy, Blacksoil on October 15.

Tricklebank produced a licence that had expired in 1996 and police he was on his way to Toowoomba for a course.

Tricklebank's sister told the court he had a medical condition which prevented him from getting his licence.

She said since the offence he had given away the vehicle to ensure he wouldn't drive again.

Tricklebank pleaded guilty to one count of driving without a licence, repeat offender.

Magistrate Virginia Sturgess told him it "simply is not an option for you to drive".

He was fined $200 and disqualified from driving for one month.
