Two walk away from collision

A POLICE officer and an elderly man have walked away from a crash involving a police vehicle.

District Duty Officer Senior Sergeant Steve Riznyk was driving a Toyota Kluger service vehicle east along Redbank Plains Rd when a Toyota Camry, driven by a 73-year-old man, hit him from behind.

The crash was reported about 400m before the Bundamba Strollers cricket fields at 12.20pm.

Neither of the men were injured, although both vehicles sustained significant damage and had to be towed away for mechanical inspection - as per police procedure.

A sergeant from Springfield police station will investigate the cause of the smash.
