Two hurt in head-on collision

TWO elderly people were taken to hospital while another two were treated at the scene, after a head-on collision yesterday.

After the cars collided on a dirt section of Starks Rd at Tallegalla, about 30km west of Ipswich about noon, police, ambulance and fire and rescue officers from Ipswich, Rosewood and Marburg converged.

Jed Crosby from the Ipswich fire station said first reports indicated someone was trapped in one of the cars.

"Luckily when we got here there were no entrapments," Mr Crosby said.

"Two elderly people were taken to Ipswich Hospital with minor injuries and the other two were treated at the scene."
