THE Bruce Hwy has reopened northbound at Beerburrum following an earlier fatal traffic crash.

The Queensland Police Service advised motorists via Facebook and Twitter and thanked them for their patience.

Earlier in the day, a truck driver in his 20s was killed after his vehicle rolled about two kilometres south of the Moby Vics service station.

Initial information suggests about 3pm, the truck left the road and rolled, killing the driver and expelling one of the occupants.

This man, also believed to be aged in his 20s, has been taken to Nambour General Hospital with moderate injuries.

Police advised motorists just after 4pm that traffic northbound at Beerwah was being diverted down Steve Irwin Way.

Police are urging motorists to maintain patience and ask that anyone heading in that direction this afternoon stagger or delay their departure times.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
