Trio charged with home invasion, assault

POLICE have charged three people following a serious assault at Gatton, west of Ipswich, Thursday morning.

Two men aged 25 and 23, along with a 20-year-old woman broke into a home about 1am, allegedly demanding money and seriously assaulting a 41-year-old male and 50-year-old female.

The trio was apprehended and later charged with assault, burglary with violence and depravation of liberty.

They will appear at the Toowoomba Magistrates Court Friday morning.
