Travelling motorist let down by today's service stations
A FRIEND of mine on Christmas Day had trouble with his radiator cap. We went to every service station to try and buy a replacement cap with absolutely no hope.
The service stations think only of themselves, not the travelling public. As long as they sell petrol, oil, drinks and food, they don't worry about anything else.
Years ago a service station was a service station where you could pick up a replacement spark plug and plug wires, radiator caps, petrol caps and even get a service if it was urgent.
Those were the days when they looked after the travelling tourist.
Not in today's service stations.
