Tourism Queensland chairman resigns

THE chair of Tourism Queensland will step down in October after five years in the role.

Tourism Minister Jann Stuckey said chairman Don Morris made the decision to stand down more than a year ago.

Mr Morris said he was looking forward to spending time with his family.

"After five years in an extremely demanding role, I'm looking forward to spending some quality family time and pursuing my other tourism interests," he said.

"We've endured some pretty rocky times over the past couple of years, but I have no doubt that the good times will return with a vengeance."

The State Government has begun the process of appointing a new chairman.
