Tourism campaign goes Live! In Queensland

QUEENSLAND events estimated to generate $380 million for the economy are now featured on a calendar.

The initiative is part of the biggest marketing campaign of its kind in the state.

Tourism Minister Jann Stuckey said the campaign, It's Live! In Queensland, cost $3.8 million.

Describing the 126 events as a "world-class line-up" Ms Stuckey said they would generate $380 million for the Queensland economy.

"This government has worked hard to put together a sensational offering of sporting, arts, cultural and lifestyle events throughout the state from November 2014 through to October 2015," she said.

"Events play a vital role in attracting visitors and supporting the state's $23 billion tourism industry.

"This initiative builds on our election commitment to grow the industry and create jobs.

"Events featured on the new Queensland calendar are estimated to generate $380 million in spending to Queensland and more than 1.7 million visitor nights."

Tourism and Events Queensland chief executive Leanne Coddington said the new events calendar profiled events across Queensland's 13 diverse tourism destinations.
