Top dance routines jazz up eisteddfod

IT WAS an energetic, high tempo day at the Ipswich Junior Eisteddfod, with group jazz performances taking the stage.

Dance convener Lynlee McCormac said the young performers were "outstanding".

"It's been really fantastic. The adjudicators were blown away," she said.

"The routines were really well rehearsed, dancers had clean technique and the performances were just beautiful.

"More people should come and watch."

Hundreds of proud parents, family members, teachers and friends filled the George Hogg Auditorium to cheer on the hard-working competitors.

Group dance will continue at the Ipswich Civic Centre today from 8am-6pm.

Entry costs $7 per person.
