Toovey in as Hasler exits Manly
NRL premiers Manly have sacked coach Des Hasler and appointed Geoff Toovey to the role.
Manly chairman Scott Penn announced today the club had terminated the contract of two-time premiership mentor Hasler, who is now expected to join rivals Canterbury from next season, a year ahead of schedule.
Penn cited alleged breach of contract for axing Hasler, claiming the coach had been poaching support staff.

"Without going into absolute specifics, we believe that he had been actively involved in taking staff to the Bulldogs," said Penn.
"We believe we have very strong evidence that he has breached his contract."
