THE 68th Annual Junior Eisteddfod continues with the competition for the Dance solo category. Sessions today will start at 8am, 1.30pm and 6.30pm at the Ipswich Civic Centre and continue tomorrow. Ipswich residents are invited to attend. For more information visit eisteddfodipswich.

THE annual Rosewood Show kicks off today will a full program including a dog show and family entertainment with the Ashton Circus. The three-day event will also feature carnival rides, stalls and games, a baby animal nursery and much more. The show will take place the Rosewood Showgrounds and continue across the weekend. SATURDAY

TODAY Ivory Rock will host the first Qld Spartan Race event. The Spartan Super course will take all your strength, stamina and courage. It features more than 14km of cruel steep hills, wild Queensland bush and a lake full of eels. Once you near the end, you will face 15 of the toughest Spartan obstacles ever assembled.

Not all will finish, those that cross the line will earn the Spartan Super finisher medal and the right to be called Spartan. Challenge takes place from 9am - 5pm at Ivory Rock, Mount Flinders Road, Peak Crossing. For more information or to sign up visit spartanrace.com.au

COME and ride on the Swanbank Vintage Steam Train from Bundamba Racecourse to Box Flat and back. The event will take place between 10am and 12.30pm from the racecourse located on T L Cooney Ave. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for concession and kids and $22 for a family of two adults and three kids. SHANNONS 2 Days of Thunder will be making a pit stop at Queensland Raceway in Willowbank this weekend. The two-day event will feature Jim Richards, seven-times Bathurst winner, demonstrating his driving skills and sign autographs throughout the weekend.
