Today's the day to quit for good

IPSWICH smokers are being urged to butt out on World No Tobacco Day today.

This year the World Health Organisation has selected "tobacco industry interference" as the theme for the day.

West Moreton Health Service District chief executive officer Pam Lane said the important health messages surrounding World No Tobacco Day would be recognised throughout the West Moreton District today.

"Quitting smoking is one of the most beneficial and important steps you can take to improve your health and your chances of living a longer and healthier life," Ms Lane said.

West Moreton Health promotion officers will be spreading the message throughout the district.
