Thursday's child will intrigue you

AN inspiring new play aimed at the young comes to Ipswich Civic Hall this month as part of the 2009 Festival of Theatre.

Monkey Baa Theatre will perform an adaptation of Sonya Hartnett's award-winning Australian novel, Thursday's Child.

This play tells of Tin Flute, a curious, lonely boy, whose solitary wanderings and strange desire to dig lead him into a labyrinth of subterranean tunnels that he rules and roams by day and night.

Thursday's Child will be presented at Ipswich Civic Hall on Monday, August 31, at 7.30pm and on Tuesday, September 1, at 10am and 12.30pm. It is most suitable for ages 12 and above.

All tickets are priced at $8.50 and are available now through the Civic Hall box office - call 3810 6100, or online at www.ipswichcivichall.com.au .

The Advertiser has a double pass to give away for Thursday's Child. For a chance to win this prize, put your name, address and phone number on the back of an envelope and send the entry to Thursday's Child competition, The Ipswich Advertiser, PO Box 260, Ipswich 4305 by August 12.
