Thirty year reunion for Ipswich students

ORGANISERS of the St Mary's and St Edmund's 30 year school reunion are on the hunt for past students.

Organiser Kate Ellovee (nee Versace) said women were proving hard to find, as many had changed their names.

"It will be a great night to remember old times, tell old stories and reconnect," she said.

"We've had a fantastic response so far, we've even got someone coming from New York.

"But we're still trying to get in touch with past students whose details have changed."

The theme of the Class of 1985 reunion is Be Around.

Mrs Ellovee said those who left school in Year 10 or earlier were also invited to the get together.

"We want as many people as possible to come along," she said.

"I think we've all grown up and many people are looking to reconnect.

"I've heard so many great stories already of people doing things they never thought they would do."

The much anticipated event will be held on Saturday, October 3, from 3pm beginning with tea at Schofield Hall at St Edmund's College.

Tea will be followed by a tour of either St Mary's or St Edmund's at 4pm, a photo slideshow at 5pm, a mass at St Mary's church at 6pm and will finish with dinner and dancing in the Ipswich CBD.
