Think outside the box on dump issue

THANK you to Four Corners for exposing the disgraceful dumping of potentially toxic material in Ipswich.

While the Ipswich Council charge its local residents $12 to not only dump their rubbish at the Riverview Refuse facility but also to recycle oils, cardboard, timber, steel and green waste into separate areas, the cowboys from interstate come in convoys of trucks and dump the whole shooting match in one spot - and for free.

Are Ipswich ratepayers being treated like mugs?

Our council incumbents vying for the mayoral position are horrified, even the Premier is horrified.

Well I may be getting older and possibly more cynical, but I'm sure the Premier and the Ipswich Council have been aware of this for many years.

If the council can't stop this, then they can think outside the box and close the dump access roads while they perform required road reconstruction, and ensure that the time-frame is a little longer than normal. There is always more than one way to skin a cat.
