Is that a dildo in your pocket, or... ?

IT wasn't quite Bonnie and Clyde, but a Gladstone couple who fleeced a sex shop were fined in Gladstone Magistrate Court on Tuesday.

The court heard Kristy Lee-ann Melksham was browsing in the Gladstone adult shop Into Love on July 11 and placed items inside her pram and in her shirt.

Melksham was observed taking the items on security cameras and police were called.

The unemployed mother pleaded guilty to stealing and to contravening a police requirement or direction, and was fined $350 with a conviction recorded.

Melksham was ordered to pay $167.77 in restitution for the items.

Michael Charles Hartup pleaded guilty to unauthorised dealing with shop goods and was convicted and fined $250, with a conviction recorded.

The unemployed father was also ordered to pay restitution of $9.95 for the vibrator he stole.

The court heard Hartup had been browsing Into Love on July 11.

He turned away with a sex toy before placing it in the right side of his pants.

He left the store and made no attempt to pay.

Hartup made admissions to police after they viewed CCTV footage of the incident.
