There's snow better time to visit
THE inaugural Snow Garden festival is set to take place at the Hunter Valley Gardens from June 30 to July 15 and to celebrate the Mercure Hunter Valley Gardens hotel has created a Winter Wonderland package that includes overnight accommodation for two adults and two children, breakfast and a family day and night pass to the Snow Garden, all from as little as $274 mid-week.
This is the perfect way to keep the kids occupied during the school holidays and introduce them to snow without the high cost of heading to the alps; and with activities on during both the day and night it makes perfect sense to extend the fun with an overnight stay at the Mercure.
The Snow Garden will see the Hunter Valley Gardens turned into a wintery wonderland with an ice-skating rink, Snow Angel Play Zone, snow tubing, snow ball challenges plus a performance stage in the evenings with ice queens, stilt walkers, magicians and more. Visitors can also enjoy some alpine-themed food and drinks amongst the cool vibe of what promises to become an annual event.
Located just metres from the Hunter Valley Gardens, the Mercure provides a range of accommodation styles including studio suites, garden studios, spa rooms, family rooms and suites. Leisure facilities include tennis courts, a heated pool and spa, games room, day spa and a cosy lodge library complete with open fireplace. The hotel is within walking distance of half a dozen wineries and the Roche Wines cellar door, picnic area and playgrounds plus McGuigans Winery and The Cheese Factory are all right next door.
The Hunter Valley Gardens includes the largest display garden in Australia with thousands of plants across 12 stunning displays including the Storybook Garden with timeless nursery characters for the children, an Italian grotto, Chinese Garden, Indian Mosaic Garden and more.
